어느새 봄 향기가 만연하네요. 그런데 주위를 둘러보니 온통 커플들뿐인가요? 하지만 좌절하지 마세요. 아니 오히려 친구들과 함께 자유의 몸인 당신을 축하해야죠! 대화문에 등장하는 Jarod가 ‘여자 꼬시기’에 실패하면서 느낀 것처럼, 가끔은 싱글로 지내는 것이 훨씬 좋은 때도 있답니다!

To get together：Did you hear?  Frankie got together with the new girl, Anastasia.
(너 그 얘기 들었어? Frankie한테 Anastasia라는 새로운 여자친구가 생겼데.)
To meet someone：My ex-boyfriend just met someone new.
(내 예전 남자친구 얼마 전에 새로운 사람을 만났어.)
To start seeing someone：My best friend started seeing someone and now I’m chopped liver.
(나의 가장 친한 친구가 연애를 시작했어. 그래서 난 지금 찬밥신세야.)
To hook up(심각하지 않은 사이를 말할 때)：JoonHo hooked up with Betsy last weekend.
(준호 저번 주말에 Betsy랑 만났다던데.)
To be in a relationship(진지한 사이를 말할 때)：Kat’s in a relationship with Jay.
(Kat는 Jay와 교재중이야.)

◈ Let’s Talk

Jarod：I’m so lonely.  I’m sick of flying solo(being single). I’m going hunting tonight. (goes up to girl and looks at her shirt tag on the back of her shirt.)
Girl：Excuse me.  What are you doing?
Jarod：I was just checking if you were made in heaven.
(Jarod gets slapped. No problem, goes up to another girl)
Jarod：Oh no!
Girl 2：What’s the matter?
Jarod：I lost my phone number.  Can I have yours?
Girl 2：Ummm, no.  Get lost. (Go away!)
(Jarod leaves in search of another girl).
Jarod：I’m invisible.
Girl 3：What?
Jarod：Well, can you see me?
Girl 3：Yes.
Jarod：Great, how about tomorrow night at seven?
Girl 3：Huh?
Jarod：If I could rearrange the alphabet, I’d put U and I together.
Girl 3：What are you talking about?
Jarod：I don’t know, you just look a lot like my next girlfriend. By the way, I think you’re in the wrong place, because the Miss Korea contest is over there.
Girl 3：No, over there is my big, strong, professional body builder boyfriend coming over?and he’s looking pissed. (very angry)
Jarod：I’m outta here. (leaving)  I’d rather be single than dead.
