◈ Let’s Talk
Jeff: I’ve been busy getting ready for Thanksgiving.
Mark:  Really?  What have you been doing?
Jeff:  Baking! I’m in charge of making the candied yams(similar to sweet potatoes) this year.
Mark:  Yum! I love yams! That’s one of my favorite Thanksgiving foods.  How did you make them!
Jeff:  Easy as pie!(idiom: meaning very easy) I just washed and peeled the yams and then sliced them into thin slices.
Mark:  Sounds easy, even I can do that!
Jeff:  It is!  Then put them in a microwave-able dish with a bit of water to cover the bottom.  Put the sliced yams in it. Next, just microwave it for about 5 minutes.
Mark:  Okay.
Jeff:  Then when the yams are mostly cooked, sprinkle a little sugar, cinnamon, salt, butter and marshmallows on top. Lastly, just microwave it for a few more minutes until the butter and marshmallows are melted.
Mark:  Great! I am going to try this. My family will be so surprised! Thanks! Have a great Turkey Day(sometimes used as slang for Thanksgiving).
Jeff:  Absolutely! You too! Gobble gobble!(Turkey sound)
